In the late 80’s, long before my son was born, I was making Christmas light bingo cards with my first graders. It’s pretty easy. You collect old Christmas cards, cut out your favorite six holiday images, and glue them on a grid drawn on a piece of paper. Then you go driving to see who can find their six first.
During one of my seasons of waiting, I made room for God by reading the Word every morning. This was life changing!
Advent is a season for us to quiet the noise of the world as we remember and reflect on the gift of Jesus, the Light of the World, and prepare our hearts to be transformed by what he has done.
As believers during the season of Advent we are in a season of waiting for all the things that the Lord has promised to bring. Psalm 18 talks about how the Lord takes the darkness in our lives and in his sweet divine nature, turns it into light.
