Every time I think of God’s faithfulness in my life I have goosebumps. He has delivered me from so many things.
When I was around four years old, I developed bad asthma. Almost every night I had to use an inhaler and I had many things that were off-limits, such as certain sports and certain toys. I could not be in certain places or sleep with any kind of stuffed animal. It was a very hard time for my parents. I thank God because through my life He has been healing me and making my lungs stronger and stronger every day. I have also been in several different accidents, but the worst one was a bike accident when I was 17 years old. I nearly died that day! I am sharing this part of my testimony with you to help you see our amazing God protecting, guiding, delivering me from so many things.
“If the Lord had not been on our side—let Israel say—if the Lord had not been on our side when people attacked us, they would have swallowed us alive when their anger flared against us; the flood would have engulfed us, the torrent would have swept over us, the raging waters would have swept us away. Praise be to the Lord, who has not let us be torn by their teeth. We have escaped like a bird from the fowler’s snare; the snare has been broken, and we have escaped. Our help is in the name of the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.” Psalm 124
In Psalm 124 the psalmist encourages Israel to speak out and tell the world of the times God has come through for them. If it wasn’t for him, they would have not lasted long. It challenges the reader to remember every time God has been faithful.
If you are in a situation right now where you can’t see if things are going to work out or not, I encourage you to look back and remember every moment where God has intervened. Think of the miracles you have seen in your life. Speak and sing about them. His kindness is abundant, his mercy, love and grace overflow. By thinking of these things, you will immediately find JOY and HOPE for the present and future.
