The paraphrased quote above from 1 Corinthians 3:18 applies to all ages of people. The ministries of the church connect us to one anther, but more importantly they challenge us to experience the transforming power of the Holy Spirit who shapes us to be more like Jesus.

We welcome you and your family to participate in the ministries listed below.

Ministries for young people

Fuel is a fun and relational ministry for 6-8th graders (or young people who are 11 years old on or before September 1st) that's all about building solid, Godly teens who will grow up strong in the faith. Fuel is led by a team of leaders who call our junior high students to live faithfully in God's kingdom at their young age, relationally engaging our youth to see them flourish spiritually and make a meaningful contribution to the life of the church. Find us on Facebook or email us if you want to know more.

Axis exists to serve our high-schoolers, (typically comprised of young people who are 13 years old on or before September 1st) and is a  dynamic ministry that fosters a living and passionate faith. Axis is led by Andy and Michelle Smith who lead our students in the passionate pursuit of Christ in all they do. Through practical ministry, much worship and the living out of the word of God, Axis trains up our young people to be mature Christ followers who truly embody the Gospel. Find us on Facebook or email Andy if you want to know more.

GEMS girls club is an awesome place to be for girls 1st - 8th grade.  Every Wednesday night (except the last Wednesday of the month) from 7pm until 8:30pm, we join together for an incredible time of worship, teaching, games, crafts and fun all with the purpose of having a closer personal relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ along with lots of building each other up.

In addition to our Wednesday night meetings we also plan many special events throughout the year.  Past events have included Roller Skating, Bonfires, Mother/Daughter events (Luau, Tea, shopping), Father/ Daughter events (Bowling, Country-Western night) and our Grand Finale Sleepover at the church.

The Living Word Church GEMS club is run by Tiffany Wells and Sara Thompson.

If you have any questions about GEMS, please call the church office at (708) 895-4673 or email us.

Royal Rangers

The Royal Rangers program is an activity-based, small group church ministry for boys and young men in grades K-12. Rangers meets on Wednesday from 7pm until 8:30pm.  Our mission is to evangelize, equip and empower the next generation of Christlike men and lifelong servant leaders. We provide Christlike character formation and servant leadership development for boys and young men in a highly relational and fun environment.

The Royal Rangers program is a cross-generational ministry that interconnects well with children, youth and adult ministries and fits easily into the fabric of pastoral vision and into the flow of church ministries.  We affirm the male hands-on, interactive learning style by featuring an intentional discipleship journey for boys and young men based on their unique design, needs and interests. Every meeting, outing or service activity is designed to encourage boys and young men in their walk with God.

We provide men with the tools to model Christlike manhood as they mentor boys on a Bible-based, Christ-centered, Spirit-empowered journey to maturity in the faith. Boys learn to study and apply what the Bible says about integrity, doctrine, biblical worldview, cultural issues and manhood. In addition, the Royal Rangers ministry molds boys into servant leaders, teaching them vital social, equipping, attitude, leadership and service skills.

Royal Rangers is led by Senior Commander Dave Blaski and Commander Dean Matykiewicz.

If you have any questions about the Royal Rangers, please call the church office at (708) 895-4673 or email us.

College & Young Adults Ministry

The Lighthouse is a young adult's ministry tailored to college aged through 28-year old adults from any church background who meet every other Thursday. On off weeks, we often take extra time to plan what might be going on next week, brainstorm how to improve our group, or simply take extra time to fellowship by hosting events, organizing prayer meetings, or spending time in worship.

2018 Women's Conference at Cedar Lake Ministries Retreat Center (Branded) with guest speaker Trisha Davis and worship leader Jill Miller

Our Men's & Women's ministry are important ways that we disciple both individuals and families. There are regular Bible studies for women that usually meet Wednesday evenings during GEMS and Royal Rangers. There are special events for men throughout the year that have included the Men's Stepping Up series, shotgun shooting and retreats.

Annually, we hold a marriage conference and other men's and women's events. For information on the latest events email us here.
